Strategies for success in online learning
Learning in an online environment is an exercise in strategy and self-discipline. To ensure that you are putting your best foot forward, we have compiled a list of winning strategies.
- Create a Community
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and engage with others who are studying. While online learning can be a solo effort, the experience is exponentially more beneficial when you are able to communicate with others about what you’re learning. - Be a Proactive Learner
Staying atop of all of your work is vital to success. But what takes your average student to someone that gets the most out of their course is someone who is proactive. That might mean allowing yourself more time to go over the material to soak in information, could mean making enquiries to your teachers about your performance, or even asking for additional resources and materials that would be helpful. - Keep Yourself Accountable
You must set aside time to study, and it must be consistent. We all can put things off until the last minute, but with online learning you have to get used to holding yourself accountable. You can set-up an alarm for your study time every day. Let your friends and family know not to disturb or distract you during those hours.
