Whilst online spaces have opened up plenty of opportunities for people to educate themselves and enhance their skillsets, this rise in training businesses has unfortunately led to a few bad apples amongst the bunch. In early 2015, ABC News reported on malpractice within the training sector, as certain companies exploited what should have been a brilliant opportunity for further education and turned it into a nightmare for students. From monetary losses to unsupported courses, there are a few warning signs you should look out for when deciding what training institution is right for you, and at National Training, we want to make sure your experience with us is the best you can have.
CATCHING STUDENTS OUT WITH UNEXPECTED FEES
One of the most frequent complaints from participants is about being caught out by undisclosed fees. With many institutions offering at least partially funded scholarships for their courses, many students have signed on to complete courses with some institutions only to later on find out that there are a pile of hidden fees they didn’t expect. Whether the amount of funding was lied about or concealed entirely, students have been caught out and forced to pay the leftover amount remaining for their course.
At National Training, we pride ourselves on being able to offer fully funded government scholarships on six of our Certificate IV courses. If you aren’t eligible for one of our scholarships, then all of the funding requirements will be made entirely transparent for you before you make any commitment to train with us, so there won’t be any nasty surprises down the track.
LACK OF SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS
Choosing to gain a qualification in an online medium requires commitment and persistence throughout the whole process, and whilst your education might differ from the conventional means of having a classroom and a teacher standing at the front, no company should make you compromise your learning process. One of the other primary complaints was that training institutions failed to offer the necessary support needed to complete one of their courses. Having a great network and team to help you if you start to struggle or lose motivation is one of the key components to succeeding in your education, so it is important to choose a company that will offer all the support you need.
National Training not only offers ongoing support throughout the education process, but we also want to make sure that the way you are learning is right for you. All of our courses can be adjusted and delivered to you in a way that suits your learning needs and optimises your chances at success. Whether you thrive in a face-to-face process or over Skype meetings with your personal training assessor, we make sure you have all the support you need to help you finish your qualification.
It can be easy to fall into traps with untrustworthy training companies who can trick you into studying with them through offers of glitzy but unsustainable courses. At National Training, however, we understand the true value of your education and how much sway it has over your life, so you can be content with the knowledge that we aspire to make sure our courses are the best, safest option for our students.
